Band profile

The Immoderate Past is a band containing, well, us: Søren and HC - two friends who met in Århus, Denmark, both sharing a passion for music, and lenghty discussions thereof.

Slowly the desire and need to make some music of our own appeared.

And now we've been doing that since 2007.

The songs found on this website are the fruits of these last years labour of turning lyrics and poems into full songs in true do-it-yourself style (all recorded at our homes in Århus and on Amager, Copenhagen respectively).

The songs mostly revolve around bass and guitar plus drum-tracks and various sounds and tones.
The music purveys moods spanning from the introvert over humour to the lyrical ... and farther - to conditions we haven't even found names for yet.
Without ever truly grasping how and why, the songs of The Immoderate Pasts get recorded as a means for and result of our daily lives and trial and times. We are amateurs, but content: We make mistakes, and play without really knowing how to.

It shouldn't really work, but somehow it does.

Members, and what they do

We both handle lyrical duties - sometimes together, sometimes alone. When not aided by live drums, we collaborate on programming beats.

For recordings kind people have helped us out when we're too lazy to play other instruments. Or can't figure out how to. These people are listed on the right below. Lots of "thank yous" to them.
